INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 8, 2015) — Indianapolis Metropolitan police are looking into a crash that happened Sunday afternoon on the city’s northwest side.

Two people were hurt when one driver crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle.

The accident happened on Lafayette Road near Petersburg Parkway, not far from the Interstate 65 and I-465 interchange.

Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles and had to be extricated by emergency crews.

One of the drivers suffered from leg injuries and the other complained of hip and head injuries.

Police say they do not believe alcohol was a factor, but are not sure yet what caused the crash.
