Sprint reports major Midwest network outage, Indianapolis customers affected

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 25, 2015)– Telecommunications company Sprint reported a major network outage Wednesday impacting multiple Midwest markets, including Indianapolis, Chicago and Cincinnati.

Sprint sent out this message to their customers:

“Customers are unable to access voice services or text messaging services in multiple markets in the Midwest. Affected markets are up to and including Chicago, Illinois; Indianapolis, Indiana; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Cincinnati, Ohio; North Wisconsin; Central Illinois; Ft Wayne, Indiana; East Iowa. Sprint network teams have been engaged. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

Sprint’s parent company also operates Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Assurance Wireless.

It is unclear how many people are affected. Not everyone inside the listed areas appears to be having issues.
