IMPD searching for suspect vehicle in northeast side hit-and-run
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 27, 2015)–Indianapolis police are looking for a suspect’s vehicle after a hit-and-run Thursday morning on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
Police say the victim, 41-year-old Tanya Turman, is hearing impaired and has limited vision. She was leaving her apartment near Bolton Avenue and Devington Road to walk to the bus stop at Bolton Avenue and Staughton Drive.
She was struck near the intersection by a red SUV heading northbound on Bolton Avenue. The victim was transported in critical condition and according to police, nearly died. She is now recovering after surgeries.
The suspect vehicle was captured on surveillance video and was last seen turning westbound on Radnor Road from northbound Bolton Avenue.
The vehicle is believed to be a 1992-1999 SUV that could be a Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon or a Chevrolet Suburban. The vehicle possibly had gray trim in the lower half. The SUV likely has minor to moderate damage to the front end.
