INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 9, 2015)– Marsh Supermarkets announced Thursday morning that it will close four central Indiana stores within the next few weeks.

Marsh Supermarkets issued this statement:

After extensive review, it has been determined these stores do not meet our business requirements regarding sales or future growth potential going forward.  While it is a difficult decision, the Marsh management team is committed to improving our operating results and strengthen the company’s competitive position in the marketplace.

The stores at the following locations are the ones that will be closed:

  • 7400 E. Fishers Station, Fishers, Indiana
  • 435 Town Center Street North, Mooresville, Indiana
  • 3825 South Street, Lafayette, Indiana
  • 35 Lynhurst Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana

Marsh says employees at these stores will be offered the opportunity to transfer to another location within the company.

“This action is part of a longer plan we are implementing to position Marsh Supermarkets for the years ahead.  During the year ahead, we will continue to aggressively invest in our existing store base,” Marsh said in a statement.
