Man killed after being struck by train in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Ind. (April 17, 2015)– Lawrence police are investigating after a man was fatally struck while walking on railroad tracks located near East 46th Street and North Franklin Road.

The train was traveling eastbound and made every effort to stop, but hit the man. The train operator immediately called police, who responded to the scene at 6 p.m.

Police say headphones were found near the victim.

The investigation is ongoing.
