Larry Bird placed on Board of Directors for Boston’s 2024 Olympic bid

(April 22, 2015) — Boston is trying to bring the Olympics back to the United States in 2024. And they’ve enlisted one of Indiana’s own – Larry Bird.

On Wednesday, Boston 2024 Partnership announced its Board of Directors, representing an important next step in the process of competing to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The board includes leaders from education, nonprofit, law, business, labor, professional sports and the Olympic and Paralympic movements, all of whom bring significant and diverse expertise and who are active proponents of the benefits the Games will bring to Boston.

Larry Bird, Boston Celtics legend, Olympian and current team president of the Indiana Pacers was invited to be on the board of directors. He attended Boston 2024’s inaugural meeting today.
