Man found guilty of murder after woman found in wooden chest on east side
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 22, 2015)– A man accused of killing a woman, and then stuffing her body in a wooden chest at an east side apartment complex, was found guilty of murder Wednesday.
James Wade Jr. was charged last year in the murder of Jazmine Trammell. Trammell was stabbed several times. Her body was found on March 23 inside a wooden chest in the Maison Gardens apartment complex.
A blood sample in Wade’s apartment matched that of Trammell, investigators said. Court documents also said Wade’s brother called the property manager from Florida to report that he “recognized the chest as his deceased mother’s chest she had given to his brother” years before.
Wade will be sentenced on May 1.
