FALMOUTH, Ind. (April 24, 2015)– A SWAT situation is underway in Rush County. Police say a man is barricaded in a home and is armed.

The standoff started around 4:45 p.m. Friday near Falmouth, northeast of Rushville after officers responded to a report of a suicidal person.

The caller said her husband had threatened suicide and had shot at her as she tried to leave the residence for help. The woman was able to make it to safety without injury.

Police believe the suspect, who also fired at officers, is now the only person in the residence.
