2 in critical condition, others hurt after crash involving IndyGo bus

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 27, 2015)– Police and emergency personnel responded to a serious bus accident on the east side Monday afternoon.

The accident happened on 34th Street and Lesley Avenue, near North Emerson Avenue and North Arlington Avenue, around 3 p.m..

Witnesses say an SUV crossed the center line and hit the bus. The bus driver was extracted from the vehicle.

Four injuries have been reported. Two patients from the SUV, a 26-year-old female and a 16-year-old male were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Two more patients were on the IndyGo bus. A 41-year-old female, the driver, was taken to the hospital in serious condition. A 41-year-old female passenger had minor injuries.

All people injured in the crash have been transported to the hospital.
