IMPD investigating early morning shooting on near north side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 8, 2015) – IMPD is currently on the scene of a person shot in the 2200 block of Hovey St. Police are reporting that a man was shot twice in the chest just before 2 a.m. Friday.

After the shooting occurred, police say the man walked to 2300 Sheldon St. before he collapsed from his wounds.

Police say the victim, in his late 30s or early 40s, has been transported to Methodist Hospital and remains in critical condition.

A potential suspect has been detained as Homicide detectives continue their investigation of this incident.
