INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 13, 2015) —  If you usually take I-65 in the Greenwood area, you might have to change your route. Drivers can expect closures around County Line Road and I-65 for a state project happening now.

The on-ramp from County Line Road to I-65 South is closed and drivers will see the same thing heading onto I-65 North.

The closures are part of a nearly $36 million project to reconstruct pavement and add lanes between Southport Road and Greenwood’s Main Street.

Drivers heading east on County Line Road will be detoured to Southport Road to access I-65 South, while drivers heading west will be detoured to Main Street to access I-65 North.

“It sounds confusing, but once you hit that traffic pattern, you’ll understand how to do it,” said Harry Maginity, spokesperson for INDOT.

The closures will last about a week. Crews are working at the bottom of the ramps so it can connect with the wider pavement below, so the right lane on I-65 South will be closed between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. during the construction as well.
