Police recover stolen Tippecanoe County squad car in Warren County, inmate still on the loose

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (May 15, 2015) — An escaped inmate is still on the loose after he attacked a Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s deputy and then stole her marked police car Friday evening.

Police say the female deputy was attacked around 6:30 p.m. while transporting an inmate from the hospital to the jail. The deputy was punched in the face on in front of Kirby Risk on Sagamore Parkway. The inmate then took the deputy’s car.

At some point during the altercation, the deputy fired her weapon. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police recovered the deputy’s stolen white Dodge Charger around 9:30 a.m. near Attica in Warren County.

Police say the suspect, 25-year-old Marcus Bramlett, should be considered armed and dangerous.
