Bus leaving Gary casino left dangling after going off bridge

GARY, Ind. (May 17, 2015) — Gary police say a driver for a casino bus with no passengers was rescued after the vehicle was left dangling after going off a bridge in northwest Indiana.

Gary Police Sergeant Tom Decanter tells WBBM-TV the bus from Majestic Star Casino went off a bridge near the casino about 5:30 a.m. Sunday. The Gary Fire Department was able to get the driver out of the bus. The driver was brought to Northlake Methodist Hospital in Gary for treatment. Decanter did not know the condition of the driver.

Police are investigating why the bus went off the bridge.
