INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 30, 2015) – A man was found shot in an alley on the near west side of Indianapolis Saturday afternoon.

Shortly after 1 p.m. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police were called to 3018 West 16th Street on a report of shots fired.

A caller told police they heard two gunshots and then saw two men run from the rear of a liquor store at that location.

When police arrived they found 53-year-old Darrell Brooks of Indianapolis lying motionless on his side.

Brooks had been shot twice; once in his shoulder and once in his upper leg. Police say Brooks’  girlfriend was applying pressure to his wounds.

He was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition.
