INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 11, 2015) – A person who was shot on the east side of Indianapolis Wednesday evening was pronounced dead shortly before midnight.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, police responded to a report of a person shot in the 3400 block of North Hawthorne Lane around 8 p.m. Upon arrival, police didn’t find anything.

Police later got a call from the 3600 block of North Whittier Place for help. Police believe this is where the victim may have been shot, or at least present, when the call for help came out.

However, by the time police arrived on scene, the victim had already been dropped off at Community East Hospital where he was later transported to Eskenazi Hospital. He was listed in critical condition.

Just before midnight, police said he succumbed to his wounds. He was identified as Marcus WIlliams, 23, of Plainfield.
