Police investigate shooting of 11-year-old child on Indianapolis’ north side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 11, 2015)— The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting of an 11-year-old child on Indianapolis’ north side.

Police said the shooting occurred in an apartment complex in the 2400 block of Arbor Lake Lane around 4:30 p.m. When they arrived to the scene, they found the child with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police said the shooting may have been accidental. The child was alert when transported to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.
