Two juveniles, one man dead after separate fatal accidents in Bartholomew County

COLUMBUS, Ind. (June 11, 2015)—Two separate fatal accidents temporarily closed Interstate 65 lanes in both directions. The closure went on for several hours.

At the Taylorsville scene, a motorcyclist was killed when he slammed into a car. The motorcycle driver, identified as Hunter D. Patton, 58, was pronounced dead at scene. A person in the car suffered injuries and was transported to Methodist Hospital in unknown condition.

At the other accident scene, just about 4 miles south of State Road 46, a sport SUV went under a semi. The driver of the SUV suffered serious injuries and was taken to Methodist Hospital. A passenger with minor injuries was taken to a hospital.

Two juveniles were pronounced dead at the scene of the scene of the second crash.

Reconstruction teams were still at both sites as late as 8 p.m.

I-65 lanes were closed in both directions from Taylorsville to the south part of Columbus. The lanes reopened before 9 p.m.
