INDIANAPOLIS (June 12, 2015) - Governor Mike Pence is preparing for a long-awaited announcement Thursday, when he will officially launch his campaign for re-election in 2016.

Pence will make the announcement in a speech Thursday at the GOP's annual spring dinner in Indianapolis, kicking off what's expected to be a heated race after this year's political controversy over the state's religious freedom act.

In the video above, IndyStar columnist Tim Swarens talks with FOX59's Dan Spehler about the governor's re-election plans, and the various candidates running (and not running) for Governor and U.S. Senate in 2016.
