Divers recover body of missing Rushville man

RUSH COUNTY, Ind. (June 21, 2015)–Indiana Conservation Officers and Rush County Deputies located the body of a missing 19-year-old Rushville man in a pond Sunday afternoon.

Witnesses told dispatchers 19-year-old Timothy Scott Edwards had not been seen since 1:00 a.m. Sunday.

Search and rescue teams arrived on the scene located about 7 miles west of Rushville.

Boat searches were made on a pond at 1843 North County Road 700 West.  Rescue teams used a cadavar dog on the boat,

The dog indicated the male was in the water, just off the shoreline.  A side scan sonar device was also used to locate the victim.

Edwards was recovered from the pond shortly before 1 p.m.

Authorites said they were able to make positive identification by his drivers license located in his back pocket.

Investigators say it is unknown if alcohol or other drugs were a factor.
