Teens, 13 and 15, arrested after shots fired near fireworks crowd

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 4, 2015)– Police in downtown Indianapolis made a quick arrest after shots were fired near a crowd of people gathered for the downtown fireworks show.

Police say shortly before 9:30 p.m. a witness saw a person firing a weapon in Military Park.

IMPD Officers in the area said they heard three shots fired and responded quickly to the park.

A police report from the incident says the two people arrested were 13 and 15 year old males.  Capitol Police, who were working in Military Park, made the arrests.

A weapon was located nearby.  It wasn’t immediately clear what or who the intended target was.

No one was injured.
