(July 6, 2015) – Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson was a special guest at the Rock Church in San Diego Sunday night. In a conversation with Pastor Miles McPherson, Wilson opened up about his walk with Christ, his participation in the church, his family, and his relationship with singer Ciara.

And what Wilson had to say about their physical relationship, or lack thereof, has everyone talking.

Wilson says he and Ciara are choosing to abstain from premarital sex. And he says the decision came after God spoke with him.

“She was on tour, she was traveling. I was looking at her in the mirror. She was in the dressing room getting ready to go before she went on stage, and she was sitting there, and God spoke to me and said, ‘I need you to lead her.’ And I was like, ‘Really?’ And he was like, ‘No, I want you to lead her.’ So I told her, ‘What would you do if we took all of that extra stuff off the table and just did it Jesus’ way?’ And she was relieved.’”

McPherson asked Wilson what he meant by “extra stuff,” and Wilson said sex.

Later, Wilson made the entire crowd laugh when he said, “I ain’t going to lie to you all now. It’s tough. I need you all to pray for us. I know you’ve seen her on the screen. If there’s a 10, she’s a 15.”

Wilson said the two have known each other for about six months, and he called Ciara the most beautiful, kind person in the world.
