Authorities: Man planning robbery inadvertently calls 911

GREENWOOD, Ind. (July 19, 2015)–A Johnson County Deputy was sent to check on a suspicious person in the 5200 block of Brenda Blvd. around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

When he arrived, he found Christopher Fergurson standing on the corner of the street.

Fergurson told the officer he had been driving too fast in his van and it crashed in a yard a short distance from where the two stood.

The deputy said Fergurson smelled of alcohol.  The officer ask the man if he had anything to drink.   His response included several beers at a local bar and another at a friend’s house.

Fergurson was arrested for drunk driving and reportedly had a blood alcohol level of .183.
