IMPD: Man found dead in car had been there a while

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 19, 2015)–Metropolitan Police continue to search for clues after a man’s body was found in a car at a west side apartment complex.

Police were called to the 6100 block of Cheshire Rd. in the Covington Square Apartments, Sunday morning.  That scene is near High School Road and Rockville Road.

Homicide detectives responded to a death investigation.  According to police, a missing person was found inside a vehicle and had been there for a while.

Apartment residents said they were told by police the victim was shot and left in the driver’s seat of a car.

Officially, IMPD says they won’t know the cause and manner of death until an autopsy is performed.
