INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 19, 2015)–Indianapolis Metropolitan Police say a woman is in serious condition after being shot on the city’s west side Sunday evening.

At 7:50 p.m. Police were called to a report of shots fired in the area of West Ray Street and Wilkins Street.

While they were on their way to that scene, they were diverted to a gas station, just a few blocks to the east in the 5500 block of West Washington Street, on the report of a person shot.

A female victim suffering from gunshot wounds was found in a car at the gas station.  Investigators say it appears she was shot at a different scene.

The woman was taken Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition.
