INDIANAPOLIS (July 19, 2015)–Congressman Todd Young has announced his intention to run for Indiana’s open U.S. Senate seat in 2016.

Young made the announcement through a web video last week.

“Everything in my life, I owe to God, my family, the Naval Academy, and the Marine Corps,”  Young says in the video.  “The best way I can think of to give back is to ensure that every Hoosier family enjoys a better future.”

Young is hoping to fill the seat currently held by Republican Dan Coats who has announced he will not seek re-election.

Young joins a field of two other Republican candidates that are currently running (Congressman Marlin Stutzman and former state party chair Eric Holcomb) and one Democratic candidate, former Congressman Baron Hill.
