INDIANAPOLIS– IMPD officers have made an arrest after an overnight standoff on the near north side of Indianapolis.

Officers responded to the 3700 block of Salem Street just after 12:30 Sunday morning.  When officers arrived they learned that a man with a gun had pointed it at several people and that he was likely inside the home.

SWAT and crisis negotiators were called in to assist officers.  After several hours of attempting to make contact with the suspect SWAT units entered the home, but the suspect was not found inside.

Officers eventually found the suspect, 55-year-old Johnny White, in the 3600 block of Salem St, where he was arrested.  Officers did find a weapon inside the home.  Detectives are working to determine the appropriate charges.
