Victim identified in fatal shooting between uncle and nephew

UPDATE – INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Aug. 2, 2015)–The victim in the shooting has been identified a 59-year-old Roderick Woodford.  Police have not released the name of the suspect yet but indicate they continue to search for the suspect at this time.

 

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (August 1, 2015) – IMPD officers say a man was killed after being shot multiple times late Saturday night. They received a shots fired call at 35th St. and Dequincy St. just after 11:30 p.m.

When they arrived on scene they found the 59-year-old man unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

They say the shooting happened after a dispute between the victim and his 45-year-old nephew. The uncle was then shot multiple times in the upper back. He was taken to Eskenazi in critical condition where he later died from his injuries.

After the shooting, the nephew left the scene driving a truck. Police are still looking for him at this time.
