HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (August 2, 2015)–  Two people were killed in a crash early Sunday morning in Hamilton County. It happened just before 4:00 a.m. in the 23000 block of State Road 13. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says a car driving northbound lost control at a curve and tried to overcorrect. This caused them to cross the southbound lane, leave the roadway, and crash into an embankment.

The victims were identified as driver Ashley Steger of Arcadia, and passenger Mathew Ferge of McCordsville. After the initial investigation, it appears that both were not wearing their seat belts. Speed may have also played a role in the crash. Results from  toxicology tests performed at the scene are pending.
