Sinkhole on State Road 144

UPDATE: The sinkhole has been fixed.

MORGAN COUNTY, Ind.  (August 14, 2015) — A  small sinkhole along west bound State Road 144 just west of Mann Road could create some weekend traffic problems for travelers in Morgan County.

Officials were alerted of the problem just before 10 p.m. Friday night and discovered the hole on the west bound lane right shoulder along with a partial depression in the roadway of about 8 feet near the hole.

Early reports indicate the Spring rains may have eroded the dirt foundation under the roadway, causing the roadway to settle at that spot.

There is no word on when repairs will begin and how long they will take place.
