Police identify woman killed following crash on I-69 in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Ind. (Aug. 15, 2015) – A 25-year-old woman was killed in a crash on Interstate 69 Saturday.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, an investigation reveals Chelsea J Cornell, of Anderson, was traveling north on I-69 when she lost control of her 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer while making a lane change at the 214.6 mile marker.

The vehicle entered the grass median and at some point flipped and went over the cable barrier into the southbound traffic.

Cornell was ejected from her vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time and more information will be learned after investigators review the Crash Data Recorder.
