BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (Aug. 18, 2015) – A central Indiana music instructor faces child molestation charges.

John Olivera, who works as lead instructor and band director at Michele Studio in Fishers, was arrested in connection with the case. Olivera also worked as worship leader at the Life Center in Southport and managing director of Urban Youth Ministry in Indianapolis, according to an online profile.

Court documents reveal that the victim, 12, told police that she awoke one night to find Olivera touching and fondling her. She told him to stop, and he did. The next day he allegedly acted as if nothing happened. The first incident occurred during the summer of 2014, and a similar incident happened a few months later.

The victim's mother discovered text messages between her daughter and a juvenile male describing what happened with Olivera. During that conversation, the male said Olivera once told him he thought a 10-year-old girl was hot.

Police said that Olivera's wife sat in during the interview at his request. Officers noted that it was "quite strange" that neither seemed overly shocked or concerned at the allegations.

Olivera has denied all allegations against him. He now faces three counts of child molesting. He was booked into the Boone County Jail.
