INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (August 19th, 2015) -- Emergency response workers are coming together to share the latest in life-saving technology.

The national tour, “The Great American Safety Drive,” is making a stop in Indy for the first time. IU health helped to host the event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to promote safety education and raise money for the non-profit "Medevac," a foundation that supports research for air medical workers.

"They do research to improve and enhance safety for our crews and our patients and also clinical care studies," said Howard Ragsdale, who was helping represent the foundation.

Fourteen emergency vehicles were also on display and training was available for local emergency crews.
