Firefighters battle a vacant house fire on city’s south side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Aug. 20, 2015)–  A vacant house fire kept fire crews busy late Wednesday night on the city’s south side.

The empty house is located on South East Street, just south of Southport Road. The fire reportedly was started in a back bedroom and caused nearly $40,000 in damage.

Officials report that the house has been vacant for a couple of months. The cause and investigation remain under investigation.
