Lafayette man arrested on child pornography charges after undercover investigation

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Sept. 3, 2015) – Indiana State Police arrested a Lafayette man accused of downloading and sharing child pornography.

On Aug. 31, officers from the Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children unit, Indiana State Police Lafayette District, Lafayette Police Department and the FBI arrested Bryan Smurr at his Lafayette apartment.

An undercover online investigation found Smurr was downloading and sharing child pornography using an online file sharing program, police said. His arrest came after investigators served a search warrant.

Charges against Smurr include child exploitation and possession of child pornography.
