Indianapolis police officer crashes car, arrested for driving drunk

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 21, 2015) – An officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was arrested Sunday following a crash in his personal car on the city’s northeast side.

Police responded to an accident in the 7600 block of Sargent Road around 3:20 a.m.

Officer Daniel Greenwell, 36, was the driver of the crashed car. He had one passenger with him.

It was later determined that Greenwell had been drinking, and he was arrested for OWI.
