15-year-old brings loaded gun to high school in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (September 28, 2015) – A student brought a loaded gun to his high school in Lafayette Monday.

According to the Lafayette Police Department, administration and school security were notified of a student that possibly had a firearm on Lafayette Jefferson High School property.

School officials and officers working at the school quickly identified and located the student.

The student was escorted to a safe location where a search occurred.

During the search, a handgun with ammunition was located in a backpack.

Officers secured the weapon and transported the15-year-old male to the Lafayette Police Department.

He was later arrested for possession of a handgun and possession of stolen property.
