Columbus man crashes into grandma and 3-year-old granddaughter, arrested for OWI

COLUMBUS, Ind. (September 28, 2015) – A Columbus man was arrested on OWI charges after he crashed into another vehicle.

A Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a property damage accident in the area of 9935 W 450 South around 8:55 p.m.

On arrival, the deputy made contact with the driver of a Chevy pick-up truck that appeared to have crossed the center line and crashed into another vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle was a 46 year old woman traveling with her 3-year-old granddaughter.

The deputy observed that the driver of the pick-up truck, identified as Adam Cody, 30, of Columbus, appeared to be under the influence.

Cody was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Cody was released from jail on a $2,500 bond.
