Police investigating after person shot on north side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Sept. 28, 2015) – A person was shot on the north side of Indianapolis Monday morning, according to Indianapolis Metropolitan police dispatchers.

The shooting happened around 6 a.m. in the 5100 block of Norwaldo Avenue. According to IMPD, the shooting started out as an attempted robbery. Investigators said three people were walking down the street when someone tried to rob them.

Witnesses told police they heard three shots; one man was hit in the lower torso and taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
