Wednesday's shooting is 100th homicide of the year

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (September 30, 2015) – Metro police investigated a person shot on the near west side of Indianapolis Wednesday.

The shooting occurred around 11:20 a.m. in the 1900 block of North Centennial Street.

The victim was unresponsive when police arrived and later died at the scene.

Police are still searching for a suspect, but they do not believe it was a random act since there was no sign of forced entry.

This is the 100th homicide of the year.
