(Sept. 30, 2015)– “The X-Files” is returning to FOX in January.

The six-episode event brings David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson back as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

The Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning series returns with a special two-night event on Sunday, January 24, 2016. The show was so popular that it spurred two feature films, a spinoff series about Mulder’s nutty sidekicks the Lone Gunmen, a comic book series and a board game.

Three of the episodes are written and directed by Chris Carter, with the remaining new episodes written and directed by original series veterans Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan and James Wong.

FOX released a trailer on Tuesday. Check it out above.
