INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 5, 2015) – Indiana voters must act quickly in order to vote in the upcoming municipal elections. The deadline for registration is Monday.

The date carries extra meaning for Indianapolis residents who are set to elect a new mayor on November 3. Current Mayor Greg Ballard announced last fall that he did not plan to seek re-election. There are two men vying for his position – Democrat Joe Hogsett and Republican Chuck Brewer.  Hogsett served as U.S. Attorney from 2010 to 2014. Brewer is a small business owner and marine.

FOX 59 spoke to both candidates exclusively about some of the main issues in the mayoral race including crime, education and the economy. You can watch the IN Focus coverage  here.

Residents hoping to register by the deadline can do so online or in person by visiting the downtown voter registration office. In order to register online, you must have a current, valid Indiana license or state ID.
