Indiana State Police respond to serious crash in Rush County, 1 person killed

RUSH COUNTY, Ind. (Oct. 8, 2015) — Indiana State Police were on the scene of a fatal crash Thursday afternoon that closed State Road 44 in Rush County.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. at State Road 44 and County Road 200 East. The Rush County Sheriff’s Department said a pickup truck and trash truck collided.

Police were still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. State police said the road would remain closed for an “undetermined amount of time” and advised drivers to avoid the area.
