3-year-old killed in I-70 crash identified

HENRY COUNTY, Ind. (October 11, 2015)–Henry County authorities have released some of the identities of victims from Saturday’s fatal crash on I-70.

Killed was three-year-old Brooklynn Pope.  Her mother, 29-year-old Ashley Pope and one-year-old brother were taken by helicopter ambulance to Indianapolis hospitals following the crash.

Ashley Pope was treated and released from Methodist Hospital.  The baby was taken to Riley Hospital in critical condition.  No updates on the baby’s condition has been released.

The driver of the pick-up that struck them from behind has been identified as 43-year-old Jason Firle of New Castle.

The chain reaction crash involved four vehicles on I-70 near the Wilbur Wright Road Exit.

The crash remains under investigation.
