ELON, North Carolina (October 19, 2015) – A coffee shop employee got the surprise of a lifetime from a group of college students.

According to Elon Local News, Kathryn has been working at Elon University’s Acorn Coffee Shop for over ten years.  She works very long hours, and many times she’s at the coffee shop until 3 a.m.

Kathryn has two grandsons, and one evening she told two Elon students at the coffee shop that it was her dream to take her family to Disney World.

The two girls, freshman Lucy Smith-Williams and junior Taylor Zisholtz, decided they could make that happen.

“Just from talking to her, she was very invested in where we were from, what we were doing and when she said ‘it’s my dream,’ I thought well there are 6,000 people here with at least a dollar. We could probably make this happen,” Zisholtz told Elon Local News.

They started a GoFundMe page for Kathryn and in less than three weeks they raised $6,500.

According to Elon Local News, Kathryn had no clue what the girls were up to, and when they surprised her with the trip she cried tears of joy.

Elon Local News posted video of the reveal on YouTube on October 5, and it already has almost half a million views.
