INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 19,2015)-Eskenazi Health is committed to caring for its patients.

It’s also making the health of the people who for those patients every day, a top priority as well.

Earlier this year, close to 200 Eskenazi employees went through in-depth “self care” training.

Those individuals are now teaching others about the benefits of exercise, meditation, and nutrition.

The goal of the program is to get these care-givers to improve their health, so in turn they can improve the health of their patients.

Going through this program really taught me how to calm down, take time to center myself, and get ready for my work,” said Fernow McClure, one of the wellness program participants who has lost more than 20 pounds since April.

A variety of free exercise programs are offered to Eskenazi employees.

The hospital says yoga on its building’s rooftop is one of the most popular offerings.
