INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 19, 2015) - It's the play that won't go away.

And now fans are having their say- calling into sports talk radio hosts like JMV on ESPN 1070.

"I don’t know what to say about that play," said one caller. "I can’t find words for it."

"Fans absolutely hated it," said host John Michael Vincent. "They were noticeably upset (and) irate with what took place yesterday... you didn’t need to put yourself in that position. That’s what Colts fans are left to think about right now. The criticism is valid."

But it's not just criticism- it's also turned the Colts into an on line punch line.

From Gary Varvel's cartoon in the IndyStar to this Tecmo Bowl re-enactment:

And Twitter couldn't resist either- posting memes of the Colts' bungled play moments after it happened Sunday night.

"There was no reason in the world to set that formation out there and do what you did in the 3rd quarter like that- no reason," said JMV.  "You were down six. You were at home. You gotta trust yourself a little bit more."

But past the anger and the jokes, some fans say they have serious questions about coach Pagano's future with the colts. So is his job in danger?

“He’s been on the hot seat the entire year so I don’t think anything’s changed. As far as people believing will the hammer fall before the end of the season I don’t think Jim Irsay does that,” said JMV. “But (Pagano) certainly didn’t put himself in a good position on national TV making a call like that and I’m a Chuck Pagano guy but it seems like he’s in a really bad spot right now.”
