Election Day 2015: Results of key mayoral races in central Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 3, 2015) – Residents in central Indiana voted on several important mayoral races at the polls Tuesday.

Some of the key races included the Indianapolis mayoral race, the Beech Grove mayoral race, the Lawrence mayoral race, the Kokomo mayoral race, the Anderson mayoral race, and the Bloomington mayoral race.

Lawrence mayoral Republican candidate Steve Collier upsets incumbent Democratic Mayor Dean Jessup with 56 percent of the vote in close race.

Beech Grove Mayor Dennis Buckley, the Democratic incumbent, defeated Republican candidate Edward McDonald with 60 percent of the vote.

Democratic candidate Thomas Broderick defeated Anderson’s incumbent Republican mayor Kevin Smith by only 400 votes.

Democratic Bloomington mayoral candidate John Hamilton defeated Republican John Turnbull in a landslide with 72 percent of the vote.
