PENNVILLE, Ind. (Nov. 3, 2015) – A Jay County man has been charged in connection with a drunk driving crash that killed a teenager.

Seth Corwin, 16, was sitting on his couch watching television when a car slammed into the living room at his home on East Large Street around 10 p.m. Friday. Corwin was killed instantly, investigators said.

Bryce J. Paxson, 47, faces a charge of causing death when driving while intoxicated. Police said Paxson’s blood alcohol content was 0.175, more than two times the legal limit in Indiana. He was taken to the Jay County Jail after the crash.

Corwin’s stepbrother, who was watching TV on a separate couch, suffered minor injuries and went to a local hospital for treatment. The teen’s mother was also in the home at the time of the crash but wasn’t hurt.

Corwin was a member of the Jay County High School Marching band. On Saturday, friends and classmates filled the band’s Facebook page with memories of Corwin.
