Search for prowler leads police to intoxicated pizza delivery driver clad only in boxer shorts
COLUMBUS, Ind. (Nov. 5, 2015) – A pizza delivery driver was shoeless and wearing only his boxer shorts when police in Columbus found him Wednesday night.
Around 8:40 p.m., Columbus police officers were called to the 3000 block of 16th Street after someone spotted a possible prowler carrying a black bag. A man who approached officers told them the prowler ran into a restaurant on National Road.
Police went to the restaurant, where they found the man, Paul D. Foley, Hope, Ind., hiding behind a water heater. Employees said Foley worked at the restaurant as a pizza delivery driver.
According to police, Foley was acting erratically and wore only boxer shorts when he was taken into custody. A man later told police he encountered Foley in his yard and told him to wait for police arrive. Foley then charged toward him, the witness said, before he pushed Foley away.
Officers said the black bag in question contained two pizzas set for delivery. Foley was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on a preliminary charge of public intoxication.
