DALEVILLE, Ind. (November 7, 2015) – An Indiana community came together Saturday for a very special 5K.

Jog for Jeff is a run/walk that started in memory of Jeff Roberts. Jeff passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2011 of an enlarged heart. His death shocked the entire Daleville Community.

Jeff loved to run, and he was training very hard for his senior cross country season before he passed away.

His family started the Jeff Roberts Jog for Jeff Memorial Scholarship to honor their son and his passion. Every November they raise scholarship money at the Jog for Jeff event. Thus far, $14,500 in scholarships have been awarded.

Jeff’s parents Amy and Tom Roberts were awarded the Daleville Police Department Community Service Award for their contributions to the community at the 2014 Daleville AutumnFest.

200 people attended the fifth annual Jog for Jeff event Saturday morning at Daleville High School.  100% of the proceeds from the race go toward the scholarship fund.

If you were not able to make it to the race, you can donate to the scholarship fund by writing a check to the “Jeff Roberts Memorial Scholarship” and sending it to 13919 Main Street, Daleville, IN 47334. Additionally, you can drop a check off at Daleville Town Hall.
